Our Community
The land of Vana-Kaasiku is ancient and wise. Here, we know that the best things come through slow and peaceful ripening—whether it’s the trees in the food forest, a smoke sauna that’s been heating for half a day, or a real community.
One family currently lives here permanently, having opened their home to co-creators.
The community, which grew out of a group of friends, has taken root and expanded at Vana-Kaasiku over the years.
People come together from near and far, including international fellow travelers.
The community gathers to do farm work together, create epic celebrations and beauty, learn, eat, go to the sauna, listen to the cranes calling, and enjoy the bonfire.

At Vana-Kaasiku, we believe that...
Everyone brings something meaningful with them – some bring seeds, some a good story or a grain of wisdom, others good humor or a willing pair of hands. Here, during a community gathering, you can get your fingers pleasantly muddy and learn something about permaculture, cook with the kitchen team or carry sauna wood, and see how doing and creating together brings lightness to the soul. From the steam room comes the hum of singing, around the fire new bright ideas are born, and during a shared meal you remember who you truly are. People come here sometimes to gather wisdom, sometimes to craft and work the land, and other times simply to lounge and watch the stars – all activities equally important. At the Vana-Kaasiku village grounds you’ll find a fire circle, a village swing, a cosmos sauna, and a large food forest in the making.
If you also feel that changing the world for the better starts with small things and right here, you’ve come to the right place.
